Soctopus to celebrate life of boy who died from cancer

Wear Orange for Sebastian Day will pay tribute to Sebastian Nunney, who died from neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer affecting around 100 children in the UK each year.

The local community rallied to try to raise money for Sebastian to join a medical trial, but he passed away on January 28, 2024, before the necessary funds were raised.

March 14 this year would have been his eighth birthday.

The organisers, Team Sebastian, are encouraging people nationwide to wear orange, Sebastian’s favourite colour, to remember him and to help raise money for Youth Works.

Youth Works Northamptonshire provides education and support services to young people in the area.

Soctopus will contribute a share of sales from all its stores, online, and wholesale on the day to Team Sebastian’s chosen charity.

The company's staff will also be showing their support by wearing something orange, with orange socks being the preferred choice.

The firm, based in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, has shops in Brighton, Cambridge, Chester, Edinburgh, Newcastle, and York, as well as Oxford.
