Behind the Brand Wild & Wolf

We are pleased to welcome Wild & Wolf to our Behind the Brand Blog series!

  1. Introduction about your brand
Put simply, Wild & Wolf is an award-winning gifting company that creates original, design-led gifts and lifestyle products that demonstrate thoughtfulness, personality and integrity. We love the detail of crafting great products and take time to make sure they deliver for any and all gifting occasions. Founded in Bath in 2005, we are home to several fantastic brands like Gentlemen’s Hardware, Yes Studio and Petit Collage along with a portfolio of powerhouse global licenses such as Ted Baker, Orla Kiely, Happy Jackson, V&A and others.

  1. What are your top products this year/set for 2020? 
A few standout products across our brand portfolio include the Foldaway Backpack from Gentlemen’s Hardware, new for AW19, made from durable ripstop fabric that will appeal to the young, urban commuting or weekend travelling male consumer. For AW19, Yes Studio will have its first skincare product in the Multi-Masking Set that includes eight revitalising scented masks for the face, hands and lips. For Petit Collage, AW19 sees an exciting new collection of games, including an original board game Catventures, a sweet 2-4 player cat-themed game with wooden cat characters.

  1. Could you tell us about your latest collections/ranges?
Our most recent SS19 launch saw over 120 new lines featuring fresh colours, bold new prints and bespoke designs. Designed for the adventurous and thrill seekers, new drinkware and multi-tool gadgets were introduced in our Gentlemen’s Hardware collection. In Yes Studio, we unveiled the ‘Mixed Emotions Club’, a fabulous collection of double-ended nail lacquers and the ‘Nail Bar’, a vibrant, pick ‘n’ mix collection of manicure tools.
For AW19 in Gentlemen’s Hardware, we’re excited to present a new range of portable lines to appeal to the ‘urban commuter’ such as the Foldaway Backpack, and a fresh new look at men’s grooming, with a range of vegan-friendly handy cosmetic kits that are packaged in illustrated ‘ready-to-gift’ boxes.
Yes Studio’s AW19 collection features new formats with a travel/on-the-go theme including the Vacay Vibes Travel Kit and Zone Out Kit, channelling the popular ‘portable, all-in-one kit’ trend.

  1. Any big trends you’ve spotted for 2020/2021?
Yes, we’ve spotted several key trends that have served as inspiration for several of our product collections for SS20.
For our men’s lifestyle brand Gentlemen’s Hardware, our design team have tapped into two key trends with our new collections: work wellbeing that encompasses more consideration for one’s wellness within the professional sphere, both at work and the commute to get there as well as emphasising a healthier work/life balance; and outdoor experiences, wherein consumers are increasingly prioritising time outside their home and away from screens in the great outdoors.
Following the success of our Yes Studio SS18 launch, which celebrated popular themes of empowerment and self-expression, we’re excited to be expand the collection with more products that champion feel-good, positive messaging, cheerful and bold clashing colour palettes and statement phraseology.
For Pretty Useful Tools, the SS20 collection is inspired by freestyle. Products will be designed to evoke a sense of creative freedom and encourage self-expression amongst consumers, with design-led elements like camo patterns and colour palettes that are playfully bold, imaginative and light-hearted.

  1. What makes your company stand out from the rest?
We stand out due to our design-led approach. We create innovative and unique products that are led by countless hours of R&D with moodboards, colour charts, trend resource inspiration, etc.. Also, rather than creating products for the sake of it, we pride ourselves in our thoughtful approach, both in terms of the materials we choose and the function and utility that the product offers. Our products are often described as being a perfect marriage of style and substance.
Our product design team take inspiration from a really broad spectrum of mediums including fashion, design, architecture and even social media. It’s this creative approach that enables them to continue raising the bar and delighting consumers with products to suit all gifting occasions.

  1. What can we expect from you at Home & Gift 2019?
Ted Baker sees a season of newness like never before in our AW19 collection with a ‘Truly Gifted: The Height of Good Gifting’ theme with beautifully-designed swing tags, belly bands and boxes across men’s and women’s. For women’s, step into the big top of the Cirque du Ted range featuring eclectic design elements like a tightrope-walking Jaguar wearing a large Ted bow across new formats like the Dream Journal and Set of 3 Jewellery Pouches. For men’s, journey into the wild whimsy of Ted's World, a new and completely bespoke print that’s highly unconventional and features exotic animals, sophisticated florals and billiard planets amongst the dreamy midnight cosmos that features throughout new formats like the A5 Agenda and Cable Tidy Bag.
Our lovely new V&A collection will be launched with a lush potting shed themed display, including several new formats like the Hand Care Kit, Glass Water Bottle and Ceramic Mug featuring beautiful designs from artists like William Morris.
For a spot of fun, look no further than Ridley’s Games with new games such as ThinkFast!, Selfish: The Zombie Edition and Cocktail Party. Our friendly games designers will be on hand to play our exciting new games with you as well as offer insight into their development!
